Many people have been told that the reason they were not healed, blessed, etc was that they had not tithed.

Peter refutes this in his second epistle

2 Peter 1:2-4

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises  ..... NKJV
 

There is NOTHING we have to do other than believe...ie to receive the promises BY FAITH

Pauls also confirms that requiring tithing as a way to be blessed is nothing more than foolishness ... and a tool of WICKED deceivers.

Gal 3:5-9
5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you,
does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? —  6 just
as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."
7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And
the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith,
preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations
shall be blessed."   9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with
believing Abraham. NKJV

Jesus says tithing is one of the 'matters of the Law' (Mat 23:23).....and this is confirmed in Hebrews 7:5 'Now the LAW requires the Levites to collect a tithe'

But the above scripture says 'ONLY .... those who are of FAITH are blessed!'.....not those who try to earn it by 'works of the Law'

Gal 3:12
Yet the law is not of faith,    NKJV

Therefore God will NOT bless you if you try and EARN your blessings by doing 'works of the Law'...ie 'tithing'! Trying to earn your blessing is a 'work of the flesh'.....which God CANNOT bless because what is of the Law is NOT of FAITH. Brethren 'without FAITH it is impossible to please God'. ("NO flesh shall glory in His sight") The very act of 'tithing' is a demonstration of ones lack of faith in the completed work of Christ for us! 

Gal 3:2-3
2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?    NKJV
 

To the contrary trying to keep even part of the Law results in us becoming condemned. This is because the Law is a 'composite whole'. If we fail to keep ALL of it we are guilty and cannot be blessed! (Deut 28:1-2 and 15, Gal 3:10, James 2:10)

Gal 3:10

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."   NKJV
 

 

To be blessed for tithing we would need to obey the 'LAW of tithing' by doing the following:-

 

1) Become an Israelite (Lev 27:1 and 34)

2) Acquire land in Israel and grow crops or raise animals (Lev 27:30 and 32)

3) Give 10% of the increase to a Levite every third year (Numbers 18:20-24) (Deut 14:28-29, Deut 26:12-15)

4) Eat 10% with your family at the festivals in Jerusalem for the other two years (Deut 14:22-27)

5) Don't tithe in year 7 which is a sabbatical year

 

Even then we would also have to obey ALL the remaining 612 Laws ...and make ALL the required offerings and sacrifices....or we would STILL be cursed!

(Why would any christian ever want to live 'under the Law'?)

 

In the New Covenant we receive our blessings when we come before God and ask...in faith ...believing that because we are HIS children He will provide as He promised!
 

Matt 6:32-33
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.    NKJV
 
 

The provision of blessing is included in the atonement....

Eph 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,    NKJV

1 Cor 2:12
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.    NKJV

Rom 8:32
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?  NKJV
 
 1 Cor 1:4-5

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him      NKJV
 

2 Cor 8:9
9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich .  NKJV

Prov 10:22

22 The blessing of the LORD makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.     NKJV 

  

The realization of our 'sonship' is the key to living in the blessing that is ours

Luke 15:31-32

31 "And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.    NKJV

 

 
Believe it.... Ask for it.... Speak it.... Persist in it....(in your prayers to the Father)

"Father, I thank you that your word says...(find a specific promise)...I ask for and
I believe that you have provided all I need in Christ....and I expect in
faith that my needs will be met in time"   

"I put my trust in you because you are the God who watches over His word to perform it" Jer 1:12
 

(For those who disagree please show me where in the NEW Testament Jesus or the apostles say that we will have our prayers answered because of our performance of 'works of the Law')

29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you."     NKJV

23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes ."    NKJV

 

Brethren, the reason the nonsense about being blessed for 'tithing' continues to be preached is because your 'pastor' or church organization wants to be blessed....by receiving your tithes!

(and of course it works for THEM....they are the primary beneficiary of this heresy....you however will only be blessed for your FAITH....which is demonstrated when you REFUSE to give in response to manipulation and deception!)
