Many so-called 'pastors' in 'churches' have exposed their coveteous hearts and have become masters of this evil art.......one has merely to turn up to a Sunday service when money is being preached about or at almost any collection to experience the practice.

The string of lies and subtle mis-representations include but are not limited to the following :-

If you are saved then you have to make God the Lord of your finances

If you are saved then you have to realise that it is not your money....it is God's

If you are saved and want to be blessed then you have to give God 10% or more of your (His) money

If you are saved you should also give 'first fruits' and 'offerings' to the church

If you belong to a church the only way to give to God is to give it to the church organization/leadership

If you have money it is because God has blessed you.....(not because you have worked hard or saved or been wise)

If you do not give you will be cursed...or excluded from enjoying God's blessings

If you are saved you must realise that Jesus is watching how much you give

If you are poor it is because you are not faithful in giving to your church leadership enough of what little you have

By giving them your money (it is claimed) you prove :-

that you are saved

that you have put God first in your life

that you will be in heaven

that you love God

that you love and are committed to the local church

that you have submitted to the leadership

that you are good stewards of what God has given you

that you believe that the more money you give the church, the more money God owes you blessings

that your 'church' deserves the money because it is doing God's work on earth

By being conned however, you actually show that you believe :-

that God is a cosmic slot machine that you can play games on ... contrary to Mat 6:1-4, Rom 11:35

that the more money you have the better life will be ... contrary to Luke 12:15

that God blesses you because of your giving/works of the flesh rather than your faith ...contrary to Gal 3:2-5 Rom 8:32

that God wants everyone to be rich in worldly things in the New Covenant like Deut 8:18 promised to the Jews ... contrary to Luke 14:26, 33

that God gives and blesses you with ulterior motives ...and not just out of love ...contrary to Mat 6:48

that God curses his children if they don't obey their 'pastors' ... contrary to Gal 3:13-14

that God will only keep you healthy if you tithe...and not because Jesus bore your sickness on the cross 1 Pet 2:24

that money belongs to God.....and not Caesar  ... contrary to Mark 12:17

that churches should train us in how to manage money.....rather than the scriptures and the Holy Spirit ... contrary to Heb 8:11

that whatever your 'pastor' says is true....rather than what the bible teaches  John 17:17

that you should never question what your 'pastor' says ....or you are believing a demonic lie ... contrary to 1 Thes 5:21

that you have submitted to CULTIC control and deception ... as described in 2 Cor 11:20

that 'pastors' are allowed to be covetous....and pursue money irrespective of what the scriptures say ... contrary to Tit 1:7, 1 Tim 3:3

that tithes of money were ever required in the bible ... contrary to Leviticus 27:30 and 32...and all other references

that 'first fruits' were ever more than 'food'.....and were the same as tithes contrary to Deut 26:2

that because Israel tithed under the Law ...so should we as believers ...contrary to Acts 15:5 and 24

that because God gave Israel the promised land ... so what we all have today was 'given to us' by God ... contrary  to Rom 4:4

that giving money tithes and offerings will keep you humble contrary to Luke 18:12

that God wants us to give under an 'obligation' rather than freely from love only ... contrary to 2 Cor 9:7, Mat 10:8 and 1 Cor 13:3

that 'obedience to the Law' demonstrates faith ... contrary to Gal 3:12 (it demonstrates UNBELIEF)

that even if we are unable to pay rent and feed our families the tithe must still be given first ... contrary to 1 Tim 5:4-8

that the poor should tithe ... contrary to the fact that the poor received food from the tithes Deut 14:28-29

that Jesus was saying we should give like the widow rather than that he was using this as an example to show how religion devoured widows houses Mk 12:38-40

that Jesus is now in heaven 'watching how much you put in the box' ...when you give to churches organisations ... contrary to Mat 17:26

that if the devil gets you to think wrong about money that he has won the battle....when Jesus defeated him at the cross

that giving money to a church shows that your heart is right towards God....rather than giving to the POOR  as per Mat 25:40

that stewardship is about us managing money rather than sharing the gospel with the world ourselves ... contrary to Col 1:25-28

that God does not sanction personal ownership of what we work for and earn ...contrary to the 7th and 9th commandments and Acts 5:4

that God wants your money ... contrary to Mat 12:13-17 and Rom 12:1-2

that if you don't believe in the 'stewardship heresy' you might not go to heaven..rather than believing in Jesus being sufficient John 3:16

that it is OK for 'pastors' to know how much people give...contrary to the secret giving that Jesus taught in Mat 6:3-4

that 'pastors' have the right to know what you earn so they can check if you are tithing contrary to Mat 20:25-27

that 'pastors' can dictate what must be taught and practiced in churches ...rather than the bible and the Spirit of God John 14:17 &17:17

that because the 'pastor' (the beneficiary) believes in tithing on his income that others should also do this ... contrary to the scriptures

the entire flock should follow the pastor...rather than Jesus contrary to John 10:27, Col 1:18

that those who disagree should be booted out of the fellowship contrary to 3 John 10

that when we die we will thank our 'pastors' for deceiving us ...rather than the Holy Spirit for leading us into all truth and Jesus for dying for us 

This is all a demonstration of a FACT....you do NOT really know God personally!......and certainly do not know HIS word!

32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?     NKJV
 

Either the scriptures are wrong......or your so-called pastor is behaving like a covetous liar and a thief and an extortioner....Who do you believe?    God and His word.....or your 'pastor'?

1 Cor 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither ..... thieves, nor covetous, ..... nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.    NKJV
 

(This article is a response to the most horrific deception on 'giving' that I have ever listened to by the 'Pastor' at Eugene Christian Fellowship)

Luke 16:10-13
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.  11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon , who will commit to your trust the true riches?  12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own? 

13 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."    NKJV

The Greek word for servant is 'diakonos'....this is the word from which the word 'minister' is derived. This passage is directed at 'so-called pastors' who pursue money.....and therefore according to Jesus, are NOT serving God
